“Disruption” is the king of all buzz words these days. During this episode of the ODs on Facebook Podcast we will be discussing the current and future impacts of disruptive forces in eyecare. Our guests for this episode are a dynamic duo made up of Dr. Jeffrey Sonsino, an optometrist practicing in Nashville Tennessee and Mr. Andy Barrow, a serial entrepreneur with an impressive track record.

Dr. Jeffrey Sonsino, OD, FAAO, Dipl.

Jeffrey Sonsino is a doctor of optometry and a partner in a high-end specialty
contact lens and anterior segment practice in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Sonsino is a
Diplomate in the Cornea and Contact Lens Section of the American Academy of
Optometry (AAO), an executive board member of the Healthcare Alliance for
Patient Safety, past-chairman of the American Optometric Association’s (AOA)
Contact Lens and Cornea Section and a fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society.

On the local level, he is past president of the Middle Tennessee Optometric
Association. In the past few years, he has been awarded the 2017 Gas Permeable
Lens Institute (GPLI) practitioner of the year, the 2017 AOA’s Advocate of the Year,
and the 2018 Optometrist of the Year by the Tennessee Optometric Association. Dr. Sonsino is the Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer for Eyeris, a contact lens company established to promote the success of private practice optometrists and provide a safer alternative to direct-to-consumer contact lens retailers.

Mr. Andy Barrow

Mr. Barrow is a serial entrepreneur with wide start-up experience. He has raised almost $20M in funding for his startups and has taken 3 startups from concept to profitability over the past 6 years. He also brings to this discussion 20 years of senior executive management experience which includes establishing a division focused on monetizing IP for an applied-futurism firm on Madison Ave, NYC. He has consulted for the likes of Coca Cola (Japan), Bayer, Allergan, CITI Bank, Campbells, and the NFL. Mr. Barrow is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Eyeris, a contact lens company established to promote the success of private practice optometrists and provide a safer alternative to direct-to-consumer contact lens retailers.
